When I am doing a pet portrait I spend 10hr+ looking at that sweet face and for whatever reason I see things that go beyond the features. Pets especially have their personalities written all over thier faces. I give it free reign! Simply because it adds a another dimension and a fuller expression of themselves.

This is a personality portrait. When I look at photo of dogs I often get a real sense of what that dog is all about. They come alive on the page or me. And yes they look like the photograph I use to work from but as you can see often you will find a twist.
